Planet Fitness?

I can’t believe that it is almost Labor Day! You know the symbolic end of summer, not in my mind but it is the beginning of the end summer wise. Though, some of the nicest weather is in September leading into October, then it goes downhill.

I don’t like walking in the cold weather so it is time to start to think about joining a gym. I want to continue to go to Life in Synergy twice a week but on the days I walk, I would go and work out at the gym.

I am thinking of joining Planet Fitness. The plus side of Planet Fitness is that is right around the corner from where I live. I could walk there.  It is also inexpensive, which would mean I could keep up the classes I love so much at Life in Synergy.

The downside is that it has no other cardio classes.  I guess I could continue to find discount sites workouts and go from there.

I think it will be Planet Fitness.

The other day I had planned a walk. Unfortunately when I got home, it was absolutely pouring out. If I had a membership to Planet Fitness, I could have gone there instead.

  1. Jen, that sounds like a good plan. I belong to the local Y, and it has a track and fitness center. So when it's too hot or too cold or too rainy or too whatever, it's a place to go to walk or jog.

I have a Planet Fitness membership and I love it there.

I don't suppose you have a mall near you? Some malls are really nice to walkers, opening early and even providing juice and stuff before the stores themselves open. I know how you feel about walking in bad weather…I have a treadmill in my basement; our old complex had a fitness room with one.

Good for you Jen, for already planning your physical fitness during the bad weather. Wish I was as disciplined as you!

I know a lot of folks that go to that Planet Fitness and like it, although the lack of classes is a bummer. I thought I heard something about an Anytime Fitness going in to the huge open space next to Hannafords…not as close to your place, but (if that's really happening, and soonish) maybe they have classes.

  6. I liked Planet Fitness. The price was definitely right and the staff was super friendly. I recently switched because they don't have classes, and I really like classes. But that's the ONLY reason I left PF.
